Unite Private Networks Signs Multi-Year WAN Agreement with Grand Island Public Schools
Fiber-optic services will connect all District sites
Grand Island, NE (May 29, 2014) – Unite Private Networks (UPN) announced today a multi-year agreement to provide fiber-optic Wide Area Network (WAN) services to the Grand Island Public School District (GIPS). The fiber-optic network will connect all District facilities and provide a minimum of 10 Gbps to each site. UPN expects completion of the network by July 1, 2014.
Cory Gearhart, Director of Technology, stated “UPN developed a customized solution that will enable us to provide a stable, robust network for our staff and students across the District. With our new network, GIPS is well positioned to engage and challenge students in today’s technology-driven school environment.”
“We’re looking forward to completing construction on this project and developing a long term relationship with GIPS,” said Steve Bergeron, UPN Education Sales Director. “The nearly unlimited bandwidth provided by their fiber-optic network will allow our services to easily and quickly expand as the needs of the District changes over time.”
