New York, NY (May 23, 2014) – Telx®, a leading provider of global interconnectivity, data center solutions and cloud enablement services, today announced the appointment of Bill Fathers to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Fathers is currently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Hybrid Cloud Services Business Unit at VMware and has over 16 years of industry experience building partnerships across service provider, independent software vendor (ISV), and system integrator (SI) communities. In his new role on Telx’s Board of Directors, Fathers will advise Telx across a variety of functional areas including sales, marketing, product development and operations.

Prior to joining VMware in March 2013, Fathers served as President of Savvis Inc., a cloud infrastructure and hosted IT services company, where he helped drive the company’s growth strategy and maintained a strong focus on innovation. Fathers previously served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Sales and Marketing at Savvis, overseeing the company’s global strategic business direction, sales execution, product development, and go-to-market initiatives.
Fathers worked for Thomson Reuters prior to Savvis where he spent ten years helping build businesses in a number of international markets throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. He also worked for PA Consulting Group in Europe. A former officer in the British Army, Father’s holds a master’s degree in engineering from Cambridge University.
