Personalized Flag Honoring Military Service Presented to Connecticut Family by Frontier Communications

U.S. Army Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel’s Service Memorialized

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Frontier Communications (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) presented a personalized “Honor and Remember” flag to the family of U.S. Army Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel, who died in action on March 11, 2014 in Jalrez District, Afghanistan. Captain Pedersen-Keel, 28, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rdSpecial Forces Group out of Fort Bragg, N.C.

The flag was presented to Captain Pedersen-Keel’s mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keiser, during a ceremony on May 3, 2014 in Somers, Conn. The flag was personalized with Captain Pedersen-Keel’s name and date of death. In addition to Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2), a member of the House of Representatives who serves on the Armed Services Committee, numerous Frontier employees were in attendance to honor this fallen hero. Gregg Barratt, Assistant Vice President of Frontier’s National Veterans Committee and State Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders in Connecticut, was among the many Riders present at the ceremony.

Featuring a gold star, eternal flame and folded flag over a red background, the Honor and Remember Flag is part of a national campaign of remembrance symbolizing gratitude and respect for those who make the ultimate sacrifice in military service.

“It was a beautiful, sunny day in Somers, with a huge crowd gathered for the 2014 New England Regional Chili Cook Off, said Barratt. “Hundreds fell silent during the flag presentation to the Keisers. It was an extremely moving event for all who were privileged to participate.”
