New interconnection agreements with MHO Networks and Noel Communications expand offerings in Colorado and Washington
Gillette, WY, May 12, 2014 – Mammoth Networks, a facilities-based aggregator of wholesale data services across the U.S., announces that is has formed a strategic network-to-network interconnection (NNI) partnership with MHO Networks and Noel Communications. MHO Networks is a Denver-based provider of business data communications and Noel Communications is a Yakima, Washington-based provider of long-haul, point-to-point telecommunication circuits. The NNI agreements expand Mammoth’s offerings in Colorado and Washington, respectively, and are predominantly designed to service underserved rural areas while filling in the gaps in metropolitan areas of these states as well.
“Most carriers reach 80 to 85 percent coverage for a client and stop, because the last 15 to 20 percent of the sites are too remote, too rural. Not Mammoth,” comments Brian Worthen, CEO, Mammoth Networks. “We have a rural focus and commitment to serving the underserved. The new partnerships are testimonies to that.”
The new network interconnections provide for two-way traffic across the NNIs, and allow Mammoth to sell MHO Networks and Noel Communications loops to its clients, while enabling MHO and Noel to purchase services from Mammoth across the same port. These agreements, along with a number of other carrier interconnection partnerships, are the backbone of Mammoth’s Ethernet aggregation model that serves rural and underserved markets throughout the U.S.
“Imagine a tier 1 provider selling a 100 location client on an MPLS solution that only hits 85 of the 100 sites,” comments Jeremy Malli, CTO, Mammoth Networks. “The last 15 sites are left with T1s or bonded T1s. This is not acceptable. We strive for the 100 percent and the latest NNIs help us do just that.”
Operating as both a CLEC and wholesale provider, Mammoth purchases fiber connectivity from over 40 carriers, nationwide. The company utilizes its own equipment and facilities to strategically deploy that fiber in over 30 POPs (Points-of-Presence) around the US. This enables the company to provide next-generation Ethernet-based services via multiple networks that operate as one.
