Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne to Present at 2014 Uptime Institute Conference

CyrusOne’s vice president data center systems to speak about data center monitoring at May 21 presentation

Dallas, TX (May 21, 2014) – Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (:CONE, news) announced that it is participating as a speaker at the 2014 Uptime Institute Symposium in Santa Clara, Calif., May 20-22. CyrusOne’s presentation at 11:40 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Wednesday, May 21, in Grand Ballroom D of the Santa Clara Convention Center is going to feature Amaya Souarez, vice president data center systems.

The presentation, “Empowering Customer Success Through Operational Transparency,” describes how the SynapSense solution provides a customer portal allowing CyrusOne customers to monitor the power, temperature, and humidity of their systems—essentially keeping tabs on the servers in CyrusOne’s facility with a level of data access and detail comparable to operating a data center of their own.

“As more companies move their data center operations to colocation companies in an effort to reduce costs and improve reliability, we have embraced a strategic initiative to deliver operational excellence and visibility for our customers while also using the same technology to drive improved operational efficiency and reliability for CyrusOne,” said Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer at CyrusOne. “Amaya’s presentation will focus on the implementation of the SynapSense solution, which will showcase a key part of this overall strategy.”

Souarez has worked in IT and infrastructure operations for more than 20 years. She joined CyrusOne in April 2014, as vice president data center systems, where she focuses on enabling customer success through transparent access to services, data, or general information regarding their installed footprint at CyrusOne data centers. Souarez worked previously for a large software company, leading development, implementation, and operational support for automation and tools supporting data center systems.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with CyrusOne,” said Bart Tichelman vice president at SynapSense, a Panduit company. “The SynapSense monitoring and cooling control technology has improved operational efficiency and provided CyrusOne customers visibility to metrics demonstrating their exceptional SLA performance.”

SynapSense, a Panduit company, is the leading provider of wireless data center monitoring and cooling control solutions.
