ADTRAN Reinvents Enterprise Service Delivery

Company unveils industry’s first business gateway to simplify IP-based communications through the integration of service provider and enterprise equipment

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 19, 2014– ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN, news, filings), today announced the introduction of the game-changing NetVanta 6360 Carrier Ethernet Customer Edge IP Business Gateway. The solution collapses the functionality of a converged business-class voice gateway, an access router for data services and a Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF)-compliant Carrier Ethernet services gateway into a single, optimized platform for streamlined business services delivery. Eliminating the need for multiple, single-purpose devices that independently support each of these services enables providers to expand their offerings while gaining significant operational efficiency and a more competitive service portfolio.

The NetVanta 6360 represents an industry breakthrough with its ability to integrate Layer 2 service provider Network Termination Equipment (NTE) with Layer 3 enterprise Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). As businesses are transitioning their networks from legacy TDM to IP-based environments, a high level of complexity is created for both the service provider and the enterprise IT team. The NetVanta 6360 simplifies this IP Transition with analog or digital gateway capability, as well as combines support for hosted VoIP, Ethernet, SIP trunking, cloud services and WAN access termination on a single IP platform. The solution provides unprecedented performance, reduces infrastructure and operating costs, as well as associated stocking time and training expenses.

“Advanced services like VoIP and SIP trunking are in high demand due to their ability to enhance business communications and create a more efficient network. Combining the functionality of service provider and enterprise network equipment enables a smooth transition to these IP-based services,” said Diane Myers, principal analyst, VoIP, UC and IMS, Infonetics Research. “An integrated business gateway that supports VoIP, bandwidth-rich data and Carrier Ethernet can enable service providers to more easily grow their addressable markets.”

“The addition of the NetVanta 6360 to ADTRAN’s market-leading line of IP Business Gateways ensures service providers have the flexible solutions they need to streamline service delivery for their enterprise customers,” said Christie Holder, product manager for ADTRAN’s Enterprise Networks Division. “ADTRAN’s comprehensive NetVanta portfolio enables our customers to evolve and grow to meet the demands of today’s communication network. Whether a service provider is looking to deliver business VoIP, residential broadband, Carrier Ethernet or mobile backhaul, ADTRAN has the right solution to support them.”
