Sunesys Completes Diverse Fiber Connection for Diocese of Trenton ’s 1Gbps Managed WAN

[April 28, 2014], 2014 (Warrington, PA)–Sunesys, LLC, a leading provider of private fiber optic networks , is pleased to announce the completion of a new point-to-point gigabit Managed Private Ethernet connection for The Catholic Diocese of Trenton.
In 2012, Sunesys first worked with the Diocese to provide a dedicated 1Gbps private Ethernet connection between the Diocesan Pastoral Center and a Philadelphia based data center. The newly installed fiber links the same buildings, but is diversely routed from the existing connection. This diverse route eliminates potential for single points of failure producing a network environment that is best in class for reliability.
Prior to contacting Sunesys, the Diocese was operating over an existing 10Mbps MPLS connection that could not sufficiently support the Diocese Communications division’s use of several radio and video programs to educate the populace. These programs are a foundation of the diocese’s religious teachings and are made available worldwide. The combination of the extremely large video and radio data files, coupled with content streaming, createda need for an upgrade to the network infrastructure the Diocese had been using. The Sunesys solution supplies the necessary bandwidth and increased reliability to efficiently handle the Diocese’s offsite storage. Additionally, it allows access for wholesale service providers to layer over additional applications across the Diocese’s network. Additionally, with the newly acquired network geographic diversity network downtime is at a minimum.
Anthony DeLorenzo, the Associate Director for the Diocese’s Department of Computer Services explains, “The original Sunesys connection gave us the simple and reliable transport we needed. Add in a more comprehensive layer with geographic network diversity, and we can guarantee a solution that makes our day-to-day activity seamless. Their staff has always been cooperative and helpful ,so we looked to Sunesys’ expertise again when it was time to expand upon our network.”
Sunesys currently operates over 9,000 fiber route miles in tenstates across the country including over 5,000 miles in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sunesys’ entire footprint can be viewed online at www.sunesys.com/network-maps or by downloading the Sunesys App , available for iPhone and Android devices。
