AUSTIN, TX – OnRamp, a leading high security hosting provider with data center facilities in Texas and North Carolina, announced today that the company will be making its return to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Texas Regional Conference, in Dallas, Texas April 22-23, 2014. The two-day educational conference and exhibition will follow the theme “Healthcare IT Innovation: It’s a BIG Deal!” and will gather over 400 healthcare information technology and management professionals under one roof to explore and navigate the changing HIT landscape.
The Texas Regional HIMSS Conference comes just weeks after the recent HIMSS 2014 Annual Conference, which took place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida last February, and will bring together members of the Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and South Central Texas Chapters of HIMSS. Each day will feature educational tracks focused on: Clinical, Innovation, Strategy and Leading Change to address the following questions:
- How do we keep up and make sense of the HIT alphabet soup (ARRA, HITECH, EHR, ICD-10, LOINC, HL7, HIE, NHIN, HIPAA, HB300, ACO, PCMH, etc.) and plan a roadmap to get us to “Stage 2 of Meaningful Use?”
- How do we drive clinician adoption and improve clinical outcomes through information technology?
- What is the value proposition and use case for HIE connectivity?
OnRamp will attend the HIMSS Texas Regional Conference to showcase its HIPAA Compliant Hosting solutions from Booth #34 along with the company’s newly released HIPAA Risk Management Tool, which it debuted at HIMSS National early this year. “Our new HIPAA Risk Management Tool is a great resource for businesses to help them ensure the privacy and security of healthcare data,” stated OnRamp Founder and HIPAA Compliance Expert Chad Kissinger. “With the threat of legal and financial repercussions under HIPAA and HITECH, it is imperative that businesses form relationships with 3rd party IT vendors, such as OnRamp, that understand the laws and are providing the right resources to help businesses maintain the confidentiality, availability and integrity of e-PHI.”
Kissinger will also be providing a brief showcase of OnRamp’s “3-Step HIPAA Risk Management” process, the basis for OnRamp’s proprietary online tool, as part of a breakout session at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22. Kissinger will discuss how the online, proprietary tool helps businesses identify and flag vulnerabilities, suggest remedial steps, and document a plan for addressing those vulnerabilities when collaboratively working with OnRamp to maintain a HIPAA compliant environment.
