LG G2 smartphones on Sprint start receiving Android 4.4, KitKat, upgrade this week

By Nichole Pichardo

Sprint customers using LG’s popular G2 smartphone will start receiving the Android™ 4.4, KitKat, operating system upgrade this week via an over-the-air update.

With the Android 4.4, KitKat, upgrade, LG G2 receives a significant speed boost, allowing the device to run applications 17 percent faster and, with the Chromium engine, Web browsing is quicker, too, based on internal testing.

Additionally, the LG G2 will now:

  • Play music more efficiently
  • Support a battery-saving location mode, extending battery life so users can surf the web, watch video or read emails longer
  • Support a useful new feature called Google Cloud Printer that makes it easy to print documents via Wi-Fi or a Bluetooth connection

For more information or for questions about KitKat, visit the Sprint Community page.
