TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) is proud to announce that it is sponsoring the 2014 Internet Hall of Fame, an annual event organized by the Internet Society.
Founded in 1992, the Internet Society is a leading advocate for a free and open Internet, promoting the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world. In 2012, the Internet Society launched the Internet Hall of Fame, a celebration of the people whose ideas created and expanded the Internet, and those who are using it to make the world a better place. This year’s event takes place in Hong Kong on the 8th of April.
Brendan Ives, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier says, “The future belongs to those who innovate, to those who come up with the great ideas. We believe it is important to acknowledge those who have played, and continue to play, a critical role in building and driving an ever more connected society. This is why we’ve chosen to put our support behind the Internet Hall of Fame.”
Ranked one of the top two global IP backbone providers by Internet intelligence authority Renesys, TSIC owns and operates its 100G-enabled, award-winning fiber network, with over 200 access points, so called points of presence (PoP) worldwide and undergoing continuous network expansion.
