[Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, March 28, 2014]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced that its ICT Roadshow 2014 will come to Malaysia for the first time on 2-4 April at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
During the roadshow, visitors will have access to Huawei’s leading products and solutions to vertical industries and advanced technologies, including Data Center, Server & Storage, eLTE, Unified Communications, Networking and Security, to help customers tackle the challenges in the “data tsunami” age. The roadshow also underlines Huawei’s role in enabling enterprise customers to leverage emerging ICT trends to increase their competitiveness and to drive more innovations within their business.

Since Huawei started its operations in Malaysia in 2001, it has supported the development of Malaysia’s telecommunications industry. In order to support its long-term sustainable growth, Huawei has provided local market trainings to transfer its knowledge in the aim of increasing the competitive edge of local talent within the global market.
In 2011, Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) which underlined the company’s commitment to providing ICT training to 10,000 Malaysians to support the development of the telecommunication sector over the next five years. In June 2013, Huawei and MDeC signed a MoU to jointly promote the Digital Education solution in Malaysia’s primary, secondary, and tertiary education systems. By the end of 2013, Huawei had trained more than 7,000 teachers and students. To date, Huawei has established scholarships with 18 Malaysian universities. In 2012, Huawei opened its Global Training Centre in Cyberjaya to train 20,000 engineers on an annual basis which has further supported this initiative.
