Boost Mobile Receives Highest Rankings in J.D. Power Wireless Purchase Experience Non-Contract Study for Third Consecutive Period

Boost Mobile also recognized as a J.D. Power 2014 Customer Champion

IRVINE, Calif. (BUSINESS WIRE), March 03, 2014 – Boost Mobile, a leader in the no-contract wireless industry with its exclusive Monthly Unlimited with Shrinking Payments no-contract service, has established its position as the leader in customer satisfaction by once again receiving the highest honor from J.D. Power, most recently in the 2014 U.S. Wireless Purchase Experience Non-Contract StudySM, Volume 1.

Boost received its third consecutive highest ranking for Non-Contract Providers and seventh J.D. Power award overall since 2011. The Wireless Purchase Experience Study evaluates the wireless purchase experience of customers using any of three contact channels: phone calls with sales representatives; visits to a retail wireless store; and transactions on the Web.

Overall customer satisfaction for non-contract branded carriers is based on six factors (in order of importance): store sales representative; website; phone sales representative; store facility; offerings and promotions; and cost of service. Boost Mobile is the highest ranked non-contract carrier with an overall Purchase Experience Satisfaction index score of 798, significantly higher than the non-contract average of 780.

“Boost is honored to be recognized by our customers in the J.D. Power study for the third consecutive period,” said Dow Draper, president of Sprint’s Prepaid brands, which include Boost Mobile. “We are committed to our customers and serve them to the best of our ability by providing a robust device portfolio with nationwide no-contract unlimited service plans that reward customers with payments that shrink over time.”

Boost Mobile has also ranked highest in the following J.D. Power studies: Non-Contract Wireless Purchase Experience Study (2013 Volume 2), Non-Contract Wireless Purchase Experience Study (2013 Volume 1), Non-Contract Wireless Purchase Experience Study (2012 Volume 1), Customer Care Performance and Purchase Experience (2011 Volume 2) among non-contract customers, and Non-Contract Customer Satisfaction (2011).

Boost Mobile was also recognized today as a J.D. Power 2014 Customer Champion – one of 50 companies across many industries to earn this distinction. To qualify for inclusion on this elite list, companies must excel within their own industry and also among the nine industries included in the Customer Champions analysis by J.D. Power. To determine the J.D. Power 2014 Customer Champions, J.D. Power examined five factors: People, Presentation, Process, Product and Price.

For the 2014 Customer Champions, J.D. Power evaluated more than 600 brands. The 2014 Champions were identified based on customer feedback, opinions and perceptions gathered primarily from J.D. Power’s syndicated research in 2013. This group of 50 represents the highest-performing U.S. companies that deliver service excellence—both within their respective industry and across nine industries measured.

Boost Mobile introduced a number of purchase experience improvements in the second half of 2013, including:

  • Four new devices, including the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.
  • Boost Mobile Wallet powered by Wipit, offering Quick Check service, which allows users to turn their checks into instant cash funds, available in their Boost Mobile Wallet Plus accounts.
  • Extensive in-store promotions designed to reduce the out-of-pocket expense for new customers looking to make the switch to Boost. Just last month, Boost launched an introductory $35 monthly offer for new LTE activations through March 311.

Boost Mobile rewards its customers for simply making on-time payments. Unique from the competition, for every six on-time payments, the cost of Boost Mobile’s Monthly Unlimited plans shrink by $5, up to $15 per month in total. Payments do not need to be consecutive to qualify for the next saving milestone.
