Cloud services provider named top 10 workplace overall
SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA – March 12, 2014 – Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM, news, filings), the leading provider of cloud services for delivering, optimizing and securing online content and business applications, has been recognized as one of the “Best Companies to Work For” in the Costa Rica, Central America and Caribbean region by the Great Places to Work Institute.
Evaluated in the “Under 1,000 Employees” category, Akamai was selected after results were compiled from a Trust Index Questionnaire and Culture Audit. The questionnaire focused on key workplace values like camaraderie and growth opportunities, while the audit reviewed culture practices, policies and programs as well as employee management. Akamai was listed in the top 10 in Central America and top five in Costa Rica. The company also ranked first among the 119 companies in camaraderie, selected based on attention to motivation, collaboration, engagement and fun activities in the workplace.
“We are proud to be represented on the list of the Great Places to Work in Central America and the Caribbean region,” said Robert Hughes, president of worldwide operations, Akamai. “This recognition validates our efforts to build an inspiring and rewarding workplace, and the feedback we receive is invaluable as we continue to invest in this important region.”
The questionnaire was conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, witnessed by Grant Thornton International Ltd and certified by Instituto Mexicano de Normalización y Certificación (Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification), an agency with more than 20 years of experience in certification and assessment.
