Shane McNamara, VP Partner Channel of XO Communications Named as one of CRN’s 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs

XO Communications announced today that Shane McNamara, vice president, partner channel of XO Communications, has been recognized on the CRN 2014 Channel Chiefs list and has been named as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential. The prestigious Channel Chiefs list showcases those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organization, while promoting the importance of the channel throughout the entire IT industry. The 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs list recognizes an elite subset of these channel executives based on their rank, channel savvy, ability to drive channel strategy within their own organization, and external impact on the channel at large.

CRN Channel Chiefs were selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT channel sales.

In 2013, under McNamara’s leadership, XO listened closely to Partners and as a result, invested heavily in automation, including an industry-leading quoting system and a Channel-focused order entry hub to place more control in the hands of XO Partners. The enhancements to the XO Channel program in 2014 are a further result of this ongoing collaboration, with a support structure aligned directly to the success and growth of XO Business Partners.

“We are pleased to highlight the many executives throughout the industry who work tirelessly to advance the standing of the channel community within their organizations. To be named to CRN’s list of the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs is among the highest honors in the industry, as we carefully consider all of the key players and select those individuals who have demonstrated a consistent and unwavering commitment to this community. The honorees lead, inspire and engage peers and serve as valuable advocates to help ensure the health and longevity of the channel within the IT industry. We applaud their efforts and look forward to their continued success,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company.

“The success of the XO Partner Channel in 2013 was indicative of our ability to provide the best possible experience for XO Partners and their customers. As a result of Shane’s vision and XO’s continued recognition of the importance of the Channel, our program in 2014 and the work we are doing together with our Partners will be a game-changer for the Channel,” said Don MacNeil, chief marketing officer for XO Communications.
