NSN gives operators performance edge with portfolio launches #MWC14

Espoo, Finland – February 3, 2014

Kicks off “performance for a world in motionTM“ launches ahead of Mobile World Congress 2014

Nokia Solutions and Networks is set to reinforce its mobile broadband leadership with advances in TD-LTE and LTE-Advanced, small cells, CEM and Liquid Applications. The company’s upcoming portfolio launches are aimed at helping operators handle higher data volumes and customer expectations for performance as they get ready to deliver 1 GB of personalized data per user per day by 2020 – and do so profitably.

Other announcements will demonstrate how NSN is moving beyond network virtualization towards cloud-based technology, extending its Services capabilities and developing a security ecosystem to ensure both network and end-user security.

Exponential growth in the digital universe is fueling a massive increase in mobile data demand. According to NSN projections, by 2020 global traffic will be 1,000 times that of 2010 levels.

“To address these opportunities, our launches in the run-up to Mobile World Congress are all about real-world network performance,” explains Phil Twist, head of NSN portfolio marketing. “The advances we are launching will give operators a performance edge across their technology, operations and business and help them boost revenues at the same time. You’ll see and hear much more this month about our new capabilities for enabling and delivering “performance for a world in motionTM.In short, we are helping our customers squeeze more from less.“

NSN‘s portfolio enhancements will boost the capacity of Heterogeneous Networks by 30%, enable refarming in even less spectrum, and double uplink capacity for mass events. The company will showcase new infrastructure and new cloud-ready solutions that increase capacity and performance and reduce operating costs. NSN will also highlight services that deliver KPIs that are moving ever closer to 100% for network and service operations, as well as solutions that help operators understand and plan for the impact of OTT applications and gauge and boost the KPI that matters most for operator executive boards.

To learn more about NSN portfolio launches, network operators, customers, press and analysts are welcome to visit NSN’s Experience Center in Hall 3, 3B10 at Mobile World Congress, Fira Gran Via, in Barcelona, Spain.
