contract includes global WAN and application management connecting 68 sites in 28 countries, including high-growth markets
Leica Geosystems and Hexagon Metrology have signed a 4-year contract renewal with Orange Business Services for a global Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting all of their 68 sites in 28 countries, including several in high-growth markets.
Headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Leica Geosystems is a world leader in spatial measurement. Headquartered in London, Hexagon Metrology offers a comprehensive range of products and services for all industrial metrology applications in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy and medical. Both companies are part of Hexagon AB, a global, research-intensive technology company with an extensive line of hardware, software and services that spans customers and industries worldwide.
Orange Business Services has been providing global network services to Leica Geosystems since 2005. In 2011, the contract was expanded to add sister company Hexagon Metrology. Both companies are independent but benefit from a single global solution by mutualizing some IT practices, such as the network and application management through the network.
This renewal relies on Orange Business Service’ capability to improve the existing network’s performance to adapt to Leica and Hexagon’s growth in new markets, especially in high-growth countries, while optimizing costs.
Alexander Perle, Head of IT Global Networks, CAD/PLM & Collaboration, Leica Geosystems AG, said: “Orange Business Services is a trusted partner for us and convinced us during the renewal process with their flexibility, innovation, response to our business needs and competitive pricing.”
“We are pleased that Leica Geosystems and Hexagon Metrology continue to put their trust in Orange Business Services to provide a reliable, high-performance global network with top-level service quality that is vital to support their business objectives,” said Dr. Helmut Reisinger, senior vice president for Europe, Russia and CIS, Orange Business Services. “Being able to propose the right solution at the right price, while providing the local support required for a global solution, is a winning combination. We look forward to continuing to support the evolving global ICT needs of both companies.”
