Warsaw, 13 February, 2014 – GTS Central Europe (GTS), a leading provider of integrated telecommunications solutions and data center services throughout Central and Eastern Europe, has been selected by Orbis Hotel Group the leading hotel operator in Eastern Europe, to provide a customized fiber network throughout Poland and managed security services to support their Poland and Baltic operations.
GTS signed a 5 year agreement with Orbis Hotel Group to build and operate an optical network to their 56 Poland hotel locations including the Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and Orbis brands. Depending on the size of the hotel property, GTS will provide dedicated IP capacity starting from 100Mb/s across a custom fiber infrastructure and backup services through their radio network. GTS will construct the fiber network from scratch and Orbis will migrate their existing services provided by multiple service providers onto this new unified, scalable and resilient infrastructure from GTS.
“We looked for a trusted partner that could help us achieve our strategic goal of improving our customer experiences by offering the highest quality services in our 56 hotels in Poland”, said Grzegorz Kotowicz, IT Security Officer at Orbis. “GTS designed and will deploy a high-capacity, flexible and secure network to support both guest and internal applications. This is a new approach at Orbis and the Accor Group and will allow us to test new bandwidth-intensive applications and technologies such as video and music streaming for our guests.”
Additionally, GTS’ solution will include advanced security management services, where they will deliver and manage Stonesoft’s cutting-edge firewalls to support Orbis’ critical corporate and property management systems for Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia markets. The security configuration will be compliant with the international Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) and consist of security monitoring, incident reporting and management and security policy management activities.
“We are delighted for the opportunity to partner with Orbis and provide a customized solution that allows them to achieve their business strategy while gaining network efficiencies and optimizing costs,” stated Piotr Sieluk, Managing Director of GTS Poland. “GTS understands the importance of data security and has built a strong security skillset to meet these types of customer requirements.”
