BTI’s Cloud Networking Solution Chosen for Innovation in Inter-Data Center Connectivity
OTTAWA and BOSTON - February 28, 2014
BTI Systems, the software and networking leader empowering content and service providers to capitalize on trends in cloud services, mobility and Internet video, today announced that the company has been recognized by Capacity Magazine's inaugural Metro Connect Awards for Best Technology Innovation. The award, which recognizes the best of the North American metro market, was presented at Capacity Magazine's 2014 Metro Connect Awards Dinner, February 27 at the Eden Roc Renaissance, Miami Beach, Florida.
BTI's Cloud Networking solution is the first inter-data center metro networking system developed specifically to meet the stringent performance, scale, economics and agility demands of the cloud. Based on an open, SDN-enabled converged platform, it uniquely integrates routing, optical and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV)-based applications to allow content, cloud and service providers to rapidly and cost effectively scale new services while simplifying operations and management. By combining network intelligence and application awareness with expanded capacity and scale, the solution delivers up to 4 times the capacity, half the latency and up to 10 times application performance with 50% OPEX and CAPEX savings compared to traditional solutions.
"I want to thank Capacity Media and Atlantic-ACM for selecting BTI for this prestigious award," said Sally Bament, BTI Systems' Senior Vice President Global Marketing. "It caps an exciting 2013 with our Cloud Networking solution being deployed around the world, our cloud provider customer revenues having more than doubled from 2012, and $37 million announced in growth equity. We appreciate this recognition for our converged metro networking platform that leads the industry in density, scale, performance, economics and services innovation."
Capacity Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of Euromoney Trading Limited, consists of Capacity Magazine, Capacity Conferences and International Telecoms Week. Metro Connect was created by Capacity Conferences as an early-year touch point for connectivity industry leaders, and is now in its 13th year. In conjunction with Atlantic-ACM, Capacity Media this year created an awards program in addition to the show, consisting of 17 categories that represent and highlight the outstanding achievements of Metro providers.
