Company Receives “Best Ethernet Business Application” and “Wholesale Ethernet Service” Awards for the Caribbean and Latin America Region

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Dec. 19, 2013 – Level 3 Communications, Inc., (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced it has been honored with the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards for the Caribbean & Latin American (CALA) region, for the fourth consecutive year. The MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards recognize excellence and leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of carrier Ethernet services.
These awards are presented annually in North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region, and are determined by a judging panel comprised of senior analysts from IDC, Infonetics, Vertical Systems, Gartner, Frost & Sullivan and Ovum.
Level 3 received the “Best Ethernet Business Application” Award, which recognizes partnerships between service providers and their clients in the delivery of carrier Ethernet services for application verticals, as well as the “Best Wholesale Ethernet Service” Award, which is presented to the service provider with the most robust wholesale service offering extending the reach of Ethernet services, including mobile backhaul and business Ethernet services
