Integra’s Ethernet Solutions Provide Reliable and Flexible Data Network Environment for the State of Oregon

Through close collaboration in solution development, Integra and the State of Oregon deliver a secure and reliable data network for critical public services Portland, Ore. – December 10, 2013 – Integra™, a provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, will be providing high-bandwidth Ethernet services to the State of Oregon to dramatically increase network reliability for critical public services provided to state agencies, municipalities and community partners.
Consolidation of several state offices and the adoption of MPLS and VoIP technology increased the State of Oregon’s bandwidth requirements and caused it to place a higher premium on network reliability. After a prolonged period of network instability, the state called upon Integra to architect and implement a solution that would better support its critical communications needs.
“Integra’s consultative approach sets them apart from our other vendor partners,” said Scott Pendergraft, telecom support services manager with the State of Oregon. “They worked in close collaboration with our engineers to design a private network that provides improved reliability, more flexible bandwidth allocation, and increased security; benefits which we’re able to pass on to our customers throughout the state. Integra’s Ethernet services provide a modern, scalable backbone for the wide range of critical applications on our statewide network.”
Integra conducted a comprehensive network performance analysis and recommended migration from a shared network to a more reliable private, redundant network architecture. Integra’s E-LAN Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet services were put forth as a flexible and secure platform to meet the state’s requirements for its high-bandwidth, multi-point network.
When the state agreed to move forward with the proposed solution, Integra’s dedicated service team worked closely with state network engineers to perform the migration in record time, minimizing the downtime for customers.

Integra has strengthened the State of Oregon’s private network solution by providing service to 75 locations across the state. Integra’s partnership with the state includes a dedicated service team, an exclusive network operations center (NOC) manager, and an accelerated resolution process.
“Integra has earned our trust and proven themselves as a valuable partner by taking ownership, delivering on promises, and improving our overall network service,” says Alison Wood, network engineer at the Oregon State Data Center. “Stability is imperative in our partnerships. The dedicated service team at Integra continually maintains smooth network operations, fulfilling the unique needs of each agency today and better preparing us to meet tomorrow’s challenges.”
