NTT Communications Wins IDC Award for Most Innovative Enterprise Offering

Tokyo, Japan, November 1, 2013 – NTT Communications (NTT Com), ICT solutions and international communications business within NTT (NYSE:NTT, news, filings), today announced that it received an award for Most Innovative Enterprise Offering from the market intelligence firm IDC at the inaugural Telecom Service Provider Innovation (TSPI) Awards held in Singapore on November 1.

The award recognized NTT Com’s innovative Enterprise Cloud service incorporating SDN (Software Defined Network) with the OpenFlow communications protocol, which enables enterprise customers to achieve important cost savings as demonstrated in case studies.

NTT Com’s entry was among more than 100 highly qualified entrants submitted by leading telcos across the Asia/Pacific. Five winners received awards this year. IDC invited Asia/Pacific telcos to nominate initiatives they believe warrant special recognition in terms of innovation leading to the achievement of business objectives.

Judging was handled by the TSPI Awards Assessment Panel comprising highly respected independent industry practitioners, and IDC Asia Pacific Telecom and Four Pillars’ Practice Leads. Entries were measured against a rigorous set of matrices, including effectiveness of implementations, angle of innovation, business advantages, impact on customers, market take-up and response to market needs.
