Verizon Talks Enterprise Technology Trends at Digiworld 2013

27-NOV-2013
by Jo Perrin

Enterprise technology trends were the topic ‘du jour’ at this year’s Digiworld Summit, held in Montpellier, France on 19-21 November. With the theme of the event ‘The Digital Goldmines’, speakers and delegates debated the impact of the big ‘game changers’ (mobility, cloud, big data) with particular regard to smart connectivity, video as a service, digital malls, data monetization and digital money.

Of course, mobility, cloud and big data (and let’s not forget machine to machine connections and security…) are key topics covered by our News Center in detail, as Patrick Harnois outlines in his ongoing article series here.

Verizon was represented at the event by Ryan Shuttleworth and Terry Denson, participating in the Smart Connectivity, Future Internet Networks and Video Cord-cutting sessions.

Some of these themes also came up earlier in the year, when John Stratton, president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, laid out Verizon’s vision of telecommunications in 2020 in an interview with Yves Gassot, CEO of Digiworld Institute by IDATE. At Digiworld, Verizon was also able to focus on the shorter term and discuss its view on key enterprise technology trends for 2014. You can hear Ryan Shuttleworth, Verizon’s director of global product strategy, talking on this topic in the video below:

The digital goldmines are all around. Capitalizing on those goldmines by using technology to generate growth, drive business innovation and move society forward is the differentiating factor for the leading companies of tomorrow.
