Paris, November 25, 2013 –Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announces today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc., intends to offer USD250 million aggregate principal amount of its 6.750% Senior Notes due November 2020 (the “Notes”) in an offering to qualified institutional buyers in the United States pursuant to Rule 144A and outside the United States pursuant to Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”). The Notes will be guaranteed (the “Guarantees”) on a senior unsecured basis by Alcatel-Lucent and certain of its subsidiaries.
The net proceeds from the issuance and sale of the Notes will be used, together with available cash, to repay the €298 million Senior Secured Term Loan Facility due 2019.
