JOB DESCRIPTION
FirstLight Fiber is currently seeking a SQL Developer to join a growing team in the IT/IS group. This person will be responsible for writing internal PHP applications, tuning queries, performing code reviews, and interaction with multiple MySQL, Microsoft SQL, and DB2 server databases. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in developing in diverse SQL environments and should be able to work independently and within a dynamic team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, manage, administer and configure MySQL and MSSQL server databases and services
- Design and develop PHP applications for in-house developed software
- Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges, ACLs)
- Evaluates performance of databases and make recommendations for improvements / upgrades
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and off hours maintenance windows to accomplish upgrades, problem resolution or other maintenance window activities
- Participate in disaster recovery and audit activities
Job Requirements
Requirements (including any relevant education, knowledge and experience):
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Database Architecture, Administration, System Analysis, Design, Development and Support of MySQL, MSSQL, or DB2 in server environments
- Minimum 5 years of experience building PHP applications and inter-system integration
- Minimum 2 years of experience with development frameworks, IDEs, and a multi-developer code control system
- Must be able to self-start, work independently and in small cross-functional teams
- Experience with Subversion or Git
- Experience with Python, Ruby, or Perl scripts
- Experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP) stacks
- Bachelor’s degree
Desired Skills:
- Experience with AS/400 and DB2
- Experience with SugarCRM
