Brazilian Men’s Fashion Brand Uses Level 3’s Network and Services to Connect Key Facilities, and Improve the Performance and Reliability of its E-commerce Systems
Sep 30, 2013
SÃO PAULO, Sept. 30, 2013 – Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced that it is providing network connectivity and a range of communications services to Mash, a Brazilian fashion brand. Mash will use the new connectivity between its headquarters and key manufacturing facilities in Brazil to boost operational efficiencies, and Level 3’s services will also enhance the company’s online distribution capabilities.
During the past decade, Mash has diversified its market focus, adding new product categories to its portfolio and licensing brand products for a younger demographic. This growth and expanded focus have increased the demands on its core IT and e-commerce systems. Level 3’s connectivity and network services address these increasing demands while enabling Mash to focus on its core business objectives and provide a positive customer experience.
“With the increase in business volume that we’ve been experiencing, our top priority is ensuring the quality of our customer service and experience. For this reason, we migrated our entire data network to Level 3. Not only have we already experienced a significant improvement in our overall network efficiency, but our costs have dropped as well. This has enabled us to invest more in our expanding product line and customer experience,” said José de Moraes Carvalho Neto, Mash´s IT Manager.
Under the terms of the agreement, Level 3 is connecting the Mash São Paulo headquarters directly to its fiber network and interconnecting it with Mash’s distribution center to improve the efficiency of its operational communications. Additionally, Level 3’s data center and cloud services, IP VPN (Internet protocol virtual private network), data management and voice services will boost the performance and reliability of Mash’s e-commerce systems and enhance its customer service capabilities. These improvements will enable consumers throughout Brazil to have a better experience shopping online for Mash products and engaging Mash’s customer representatives. Level 3 also manages network security for Mash’s e-commerce system, ensuring its customers’ personal information is protected.
“Mash’s IT environment counts on efficient and reliable network connectivity, elements that ultimately improve their customer service performance. Their entire online system for product distribution and back-office operations is now supported by Level 3, and we are delighted that our network solutions will enable them to continue expanding their business,” says Marcos Malfatti, senior vice president of Sales for Level 3 in Brazil.
