[Hamburg, Germany, 31 October, 2013]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, unveiled its leading energy management concepts and high-efficiency, reliable power supply solutions to global customers and industry professionals at the International Telecommunications Energy Conference (Intelec) 2013 in Hamburg, Germany.
With the continued evolution of networks and the onset of the big data era, there has been a surge in energy consumption which has created heavy cost pressure for customers across a range of industries, with sites becoming more integrated and big data triggering high heat density. At Intelec, Huawei presented its newest concepts on efficient, synergic and intelligent network energy transformation to address these challenges. In the future, high efficiency will be a key trend in network energy transformation, with synergy between the main equipment and infrastructure becoming increasingly important. This will require the refined and intelligent management of the power monitoring system to effectively manage the sites and reduced the Power Usage Efficiency (PUE) of the whole network.
Huawei exhibited a number of power solutions for different scenarios at Intelec to showcase its latest innovations in network energy solutions. Products featured include the ETP48200, a 5U high and 19-inch wide embedded power system which is small in size and highly integrated, making it suitable for flexible application in multiple scenarios. In addition, Huawei unveiled its reliable and sustainable indoor power solutions, namely the integrated cabinet, TP48300B, which is customized for use by BT, and the integrated large capacity power system, TP482000B. TP48300B is applied to convergence networks and designed to be highly flexible, with the ability to expand to multi-cabinets system to meet the requirements of the network as it evolves. The high reliability, efficiency and power density of Huawei’s TP482000B is an ideal solution for core rooms.
During the Intelec forum, Vice President of Huawei Network Energy, Dr. Fang Liangzhou, delivered a speech on “Network Energy Transformation: Efficient, Synergic and Intelligent”, which first explained network energy trends and the resulting challenges customers will encounter, before sharing Huawei’s network power solutions and recent success stories.
