Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne Reaches 1-Million-Square-Foot Milestone

Industry-leading product innovation, customer service, and scalable solutions drive continued demand among Fortune 1000

Dallas, TX (October 23, 2013) – Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (:CONE, news) announced today that it has officially reached the 1-million-square-foot mark of raised white floor space in its 25 carrier-neutral data center facilities across the United States, Europe, and Asia. It crossed this important threshold as it recently commissioned a new 60,000-square-foot data hall at its Carrollton, Texas, data center.

“Achieving 1 million square feet of data center space is a tremendous accomplishment for the entire CyrusOne team and reflects solid progress toward our goal of being the preferred data center provider of Fortune 1000 companies,” said Gary Wojtaszek, president and chief executive officer, CyrusOne.

“Our focus on exceptional customer service, combined with flexible product offerings that seamlessly serve large enterprise data center and connectivity requirements, has enabled us to meet this milestone quicker than we anticipated. This is truly a testament to the team and culture we’ve created at CyrusOne, which is focused on execution, customer service, and having fun.”

Carrollton Expansion Driven by Strong Demand
Consistent with Texas’s reputation, CyrusOne’s Carrollton data center is the largest and most energy-efficient multi-tenant data center in the state. The recently commissioned second phase of the Carrollton data center adds approximately 60,000 square feet of raised white floor space within the site’s total footprint of 670,000 square feet. Construction of the second phase was completed in just 16 weeks, using the company’s innovative, lower-cost, fast-to-market Massively Modular® approach to facility design and engineering. The Massively Modular approach enables quick deployment of customer data center requirements, including purpose-built dedicated facilities as well as shared infrastructure solutions.

“The completion of phase two in Carrollton really highlights the advantages our Massively Modular approach brings to the market,” said Laramie Dorris, director of data center design and construction, CyrusOne. “In just 16 weeks, we were able to bring online 60,000 square feet of world-class data center space, and if customers demanded, we could have shortened that to 12 weeks, which is a best-in-class metric for the industry. Our accelerated build schedule enables us to efficiently meet growing customer space demands in a timely fashion and is successful due to our close collaboration and communication with our architect and engineering partners, equipment vendors, and contractors.”

Delivering Best-in-Class Enterprise Facilities and Robust Connectivity
CyrusOne specializes in highly reliable enterprise data center colocation solutions and engineers its facilities with the highest power redundancy (2N architecture) and the power-density infrastructure required to deliver excellent availability.

Customers also have access to the CyrusOne National Internet Exchange (National IX), which marries low-cost robust connectivity with the massively scaled data centers that CyrusOne is known for by creating the first-ever data center platform that virtually links a dozen of CyrusOne’s enterprise facilities in five metropolitan markets (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix). As a result, CyrusOne customers have an opportunity to go beyond the benefits of a single data center and efficiently architect a data center platform for their production or disaster recovery solution using multiple data centers connected by powerful, low-cost carrier-grade connectivity. This approach represents a true paradigm shift in the way companies are managing the creation, access, and sharing of their data.

Moreover, the CyrusOne National IX provides customers with the opportunity to drive additional revenue by improving their immediately addressable market, to reduce expenses with a lower-cost option for point-to-point connectivity between data centers, and to improve service quality through higher levels of resiliency.

The company is renowned for exceptional service and for building enduring customer relationships and high customer satisfaction levels. Customers include nine of the Fortune 20 companies and more than 100 of the Fortune 1000.
