ADVA Optical Networking announced today that Openreach, the infrastructure division of BT Group, has deployed over 100,000 FSP 150 circuits into its Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) services. This figure marks a major milestone and represents one of the largest installed bases of Ethernet connectivity in the world. One of the key reasons for this success is the ADVA FSP Management Suite that enables Openreach to drastically simplify the provisioning of new services and rapidly respond to customer requests.
“This milestone represents a significant achievement and is the culmination of many years of determination and effort,” said Mark Logan, director Fibre Products, Openreach. “Our teams have worked closely to ensure we identify and meet the needs of our customers. The ADVA FSP Management Suite interoperates with our Operations Support System (OSS), to ensure we can offer our customers simplicity and zero-touch provisioning.”
Since its public launch in 2009, EAD services have been widely adopted by enterprises throughout the U.K. It’s this success that demands a robust network management tool that is capable of removing complexity from operations, administration and maintenance tasks. This is one of the strengths of the ADVA FSP Management Suite. Over a decade of development means that it can meet even the most exacting networking demands. During the course of 2013/14, there will be further development of the management suite to include additional support for Synchronous Ethernet and virtual services.
“Openreach is a company that’s working hard to meet and exceed its customers’ expectations” commented Sarah Mendham, account director, ADVA Optical Networking. “Together we’ve helped to drive Ethernet connectivity across the U.K., and we believe a major cornerstone for this achievement is our FSP Management Suite. This secret ingredient ensures Openreach can respond to its customers’ requests in good time and take a collaborative approach to changing demands. We’ve worked side-by-side to develop network management software that meets every aspect of Openreach’s specific requests.”
