[Shanghai, China, September 3, 2013]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today kicks-off its Huawei Enterprise Networking Congress 2013 (HENC 2013) in Shanghai. Under the theme “Agile Network, Agile World,” the HENC 2013 is one of the largest network technology events in China and the Asia-Pacific region, attracting enterprise leaders, CIOs, technical experts and network technology executives from various industries, as well as analysts and media from across the world.
During his opening speech Mr. William Xu, CEO of Huawei Enterprise Business Group, shared the company’s views and insights on the challenges and trends of building enterprise ICT infrastructures in a fast-changing environment. “Today, ICT does not only serve as a service-support system for enterprises; it has become an indication of core competitiveness for enterprises,” said Mr Xu. “Networks are the fundamental platform for enterprise ICT infrastructure and enterprises need to shift focus from technologies and connection to services and user experience to enable full control.” Mr Xu. concluded by emphasizing the company’s commitment to innovation through collaboration, “Huawei is committed to open collaboration with our partners in providing innovative products, solutions and services, achieving win-win business results together and changing the future with our customers.”
In the keynote session entitled “Agile Network Agile World,” Mr. Liu Shaowei, President, Enterprise Network Product Line of Huawei Enterprise Business Group, emphasized that enterprises must adapt to the rapid changes with agility, in the network domain. Mr. Liu remarked, “In response to increasing challenges from cloud computing, big data, mobility, and social media, Huawei has launched an agile network to provide an instrumental foundation for enterprises to respond to business needs and adapt to changes.”
During the keynote sessions, a number of industry experts and Huawei partners, including Mr. Tim Zimmerman, Chief Analyst, Gartner and Mr. Ma Zhiqiang, Senior Network Architect, Tencent provided insightful perspectives on network innovations and trends in the software-defined network (SDN) era and experience in the construction of next-generation cloud networks. Elsewhere, during the panel discussion titled “Building Agile Networks to Change the World,” guest speakers from IBM, China National Petroleum Corporation and ChinaSoft International joined Mr. Xu and Mr. Zimmerman in a discussion on the challenges and trends that enterprises face during the construction of ICT infrastructures, and ways to develop a next-generation network for agile services.
Continuing the momentum of Huawei’s S12700 agile network architecture and agile switch launch on August 8, 2013 in Beijing, the company unveiled the industry-leading USG6000 Next-Generation Firewall and showcased its new enterprise networks and end-to-end solutions. As announced by Liang Yongjian, Huawei Enterprise Business Group Solution Sales CTO, security is one of the most important factors for an agile network. Huawei’s next-generation firewall therefore provides more fine-grained service control and enhanced protection capabilities, enabling customers to build an integrated security strategy.
HENC 2013 features over 70 keynote sessions, product demonstrations, presentations, forums, and discussions on the latest in network technologies. It also includes a number of Huawei network product solution forums targeted at different vertical industries, including finance, energy, education, government, radio and television, where CIOs and network architects from industry leading enterprises can share their thoughts and experiences in enterprise network planning and deployment.
