LITTLETON, Colo., Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — tw telecom inc. (NASDAQ:TWTC, news, filings), a Douglas County-based national provider of voice, Internet and data networking solutions for businesses in Colorado and across the U.S., today announced the 2013 tw telecom Charity Invitational golf tournament raised $420,000 to benefit SungateKids. SungateKids is a Denver area-based non-profit children’s advocacy center for victims of child abuse and their families. 100% of the proceeds go directly to SungateKids.

Seventy-six companies and 176 golfers participated in the 2013 tw telecom Charity Invitational that was held Aug. 19th at The Country Club at Castle Pines in northern Douglas County. This annual event raises awareness and helps fund the mission and work of SungateKids. Over the years, tw telecom and its partners have raised $3.5 million for SungateKids through this tournament and other events.

The interviews conducted at SungateKids are instrumental in prosecuting perpetrators of abuse.
