Shenzhen, China, July 17, 2013]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced that Dr. Philippe Reininger of Huawei’s Wireless Network Business Unit was recently elected chairman of a 3GPP RAN Working Group 3 (WG3) responsible for overall UTRAN/E-UTRAN (Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network) architecture and specification of protocols for Iu Iur, Iub, S1 and X2 interfaces.

The May 21 election cited Mr. Reininger’s significant contributions to wireless standards and technologies. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Louis Pasteur University in France and CNET (Orange Labs), and has over 19 years of experience in network design for mobile radio systems.
