Frontier Communications Appoints Melinda M. White Area President for its West Region

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) announced today that Melinda M. White has been appointed Area President for the company’s West Region, responsible for all markets and all aspects of the customer experience in California, Idaho,Montana, Oregon and Washington. This appointment was effective June 1, 2013. White is based in Beaverton, Oregon and reports to Dan McCarthy, President and Chief Operating Officer. She succeeds Denise Baumbach who is retiring after eight years with Frontier.

In announcing the appointment, Dan McCarthy, President and COO of Frontier, stated, “I am pleased Melinda accepted this important role. She is customer focused, operationally astute, and committed to empowering employees and to local engagement.”

Most recently, as Executive Vice President of Revenue Development, White led wireless, video, online and new business strategies for Frontier’s operations in 27 states. She led the development of partnerships to bring new products and services to customers across rural and suburban markets. In her new position, she will remain responsible for the company’s video content strategy.

Earlier, White was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Marketing and New Business Operations, responsible for Marketing and Product company-wide. Before that, she was Senior Vice President, Commercial Sales and Marketing, responsible for wholesale and retail revenue, product marketing and wireless operations. She joined the company in 2005 as Vice President and General Manager of Electric Lightwave, Inc., a unit of the company that she managed and helped position for sale to Integra Telecom in 2006.

Before joining Frontier Communications, White was Executive Vice President, National Accounts/Business Development for Wink Communications, developing low-cost, end-to-end ecommerce systems. She also held senior leadership positions at Cox Communications and Cellular One (McCaw and the AT&T/AirTouch joint venture).

White earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard Payne University in Texas and a Master of Business Administration degree fromTulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. In July 2012, she was honored by New York Chapter of the National Organization for Women as a “Woman of Power and Influence.”
