ZAYO OFFERS 100 GIGABIT WAVELENGTH SERVICE ON WEST COAST ROUTE

BOULDER, Colo. – June 6, 2013– Zayo Group, an international provider of Bandwidth Infrastructure services, today announced it has expanded its 100G Wavelength network service on the Seattle to Los Angeles fiber route. Zayo’s 100G Wavelength technology now provides West Coast customers with increased capacity, improved latency and cost efficiencies across a corridor that includes a high concentration of media content and internet companies.

With data consumption on the rise, this expansion will accommodate bandwidth demand driven by cloud computing, mobile traffic, “big data” processing and video streaming with Ethernet-based service delivery to customer sites. Additionally, because 100G transport requires fewer hardware connections than multiple 10G platforms, Zayo’s service allows customers to build their networks more efficiently, and with fewer potential points of failure.

“The Seattle to Los Angeles route will strengthen Zayo’s ability to provide high bandwidth connectivity on the West Coast to serve key customers, including media, internet and carrier companies,” said Zach Nebergall of Zayo’s Wavelength Product Group. “We are investing in both the capacity and reach of our network to meet the current and future Bandwidth Infrastructure needs of our customers.”

Zayo’s 100G Wavelength service will be available immediately on the Seattle to Los Angeles route, which includes the ability to originate and terminate add/drop 100G service capabilities in the following markets:
• Seattle, Wash.
• Portland, Ore.
• Sacramento, Calif.
• San Francisco, Calif.
• San Jose, Calif.
• Modesto, Calif.
• Los Angeles, Calif.

Zayo began implementation of 100G Wavelength services across major U.S. markets in late 2012. In recent months, the technology has been rolled out along the eastern corridor including New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Zayo has also completed implementation and installed 100G customer services along additional routes including Seattle to Chicago and Chicago to New York City.
