Mobsource Pty Ltd a Sydney based Software Defined Networking (SDN)startup appoints CTO and corporate finance firm for capital raise.

The business aims to capitalise on a huge gap created by the rapidly changing supply and demand dynamics in the global market for international data carriage.

Cloud computing, big data, mobility and an ever-increasing applicationsprawl are all driving the growth of international bandwidth and the SDN market is poised to help companies gain control by virtualizing thenetwork layer.

Mobsource plans to use its proprietary algorithms with the latest OpenFlow technologies to allow carriers and providers to anonymously sell their excess or idle global data capacity in the aggregated dark pool.

At the same time, companies who use point-to-point international data links will have unprecedented access to it and will be able to control their network through a mobsource web interface.

Customers will be able to order more ports, provision more international layer 2 links and increase bandwidth on their links in near real time through the portal.

Andover corporate finance a Sydney advisory firm, have been appointed anexclusive engagement to help raise a growth round for mobsource into whatis tipped to be a US$35 billion industry by 2020.

“This is yet another exciting example of internet technology disrupting an enormous global industry” said Ben Loiterton, principal of Andover, whohas over 20 years in capital raising for a wide array of sectors includingtelecoms, digital services, media and technology.

To help with the rapid expansion, mobsource has appointed Alex Turner as its CTO to help recruit a team of developers and continue the build out of whatis being seen as the world’s first international OpenFlow data networkthat will incorporate a spot price for international networks.

“Alex has been critical in building our Sydney-USA-UK network and has adeep working knowledge of technology” Said Carl Gough, mobsources’ CEO.

“Alex is a new breed of network software engineers and is building a platform that will drive change and will truly revolutionise the carrierindustry.” added Gough.

The Network as a Service (NaaS) solution is a proprietary data network andprovides a layer 2 point to point connection between international pointsof presence in Sydney the USA and UK. Its key advantage is providing thesenetworks to small medium and large business on a pay as you go basis forup to 80% cheaper.

“This is not something that may happen”said Gough. “Carriers, banks, media and corporates alike need to evolve their networks to support thecloud sprawl, and we will be there to help.”
