JAKARTA, Indonesia – 13 June, 2013 — Cisco today announced an industry-academia collaboration in Indonesia, where students will have the opportunity to learn on the job through an internship with business leaders in the country. The Cisco® Internship Training Program (CiTP) aims to develop a future-ready workforce by providing students with real-life industry experiences through the Cisco Networking Academy™ program; an opportunity to learn from information and communication technology (ICT) implementations as well as developing their leadership skills.
Cisco has received more than 200 applications from students keen to participate in the CiTP program with the following companies that have committed to develop Indonesia’s future ICT leaders:
- PT Dimension Data Indonesia,
- PT Nusantara Compnet Integrator,
- PT Sisindokom Lintasbuana,
- PT Multipolar Technology,
- PT Packet Systems Indonesia
- PT Mastersystem Infotama
Fifteen students from seven universities and one polytechnic in Indonesia will be selected to fulfill a six-month internship with reputable partners of Cisco in Indonesia.
The students, who will start the internship in June, have six months to complete the internship, which will culminate in a business plan competition, expected to generate a showcase of innovation and help the companies directly implement more exciting ideas and solutions. Cisco and the partner companies will provide additional mentorship for the students throughout the internship period.
