Acquisition Strengthens National MPLS Network, Adds Fixed Wireless & Voice Services
May 15, 2013, Pittsburgh, PA: United Network Services, Inc. (UNSi), a provider of data network and carrier services, announced today that it has successfully completed its previously announced acquisition of Airband Communications of Dallas, Texas. Airband Communications is one of the nation’s largest fixed wireless voice and data providers for businesses, with a large southwest and southeast MPLS backbone. The all stock merger officially closed on May 14. The acquisition expands UNSi’s existing robust national MPLS & Ethernet network with a total of 29 Core PoPs spanning across the United States, fixed wireless in 16 markets, VoIP platform delivered on a national basis, as well as a comprehensive broadband aggregation network.
The combined company will operate under the name United Network Services Inc. (UNSi) with primary operations located in Dallas, Phoenix, and Pittsburgh coupled with regional offices in several strategic cities.
