Forbes Columnist to Discuss Healthcare and the IT Cloud During Lunchtime Presentation at CyrusOne’s new Phoenix Facility
Dallas, TX (May 17, 2013) –Global data center services provider CyrusOne (:CONE, news) is hosting the May AFCOM Arizona event on May 17, featuring Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer for CyrusOne, and Dan Munro, an IT columnist with Forbes magazine.
AFCOM has come to be recognized as the leading association for the advancement of data center and facilities management professionals across the world. The May membership event features an introduction by Timmons and a lunchtime presentation on “Healthcare and the IT Cloud” with Munro, followed by a tour. The event takes place at CyrusOne’s new Phoenix Data Center, 2335 Ellis Street, Chandler, Ariz.
“We are pleased to welcome the AFCOM Arizona membership to CyrusOne’s Phoenix data center,” said Timmons. “The first phase of this state-of-the-art 1,000,000-square-foot campus was completed in just seven months. Our Phoenix data center is one of the largest and most energy-efficient data centers in the United States, and there is already more than 36,000 feet of commissioned space.”
Munro writes on the intersection of healthcare information technology innovation and policy. His focus is on the challenges, opportunities, and solutions that influence the United States’ $3.5 trillion healthcare system. As CyrusOne’s CTO, Timmons is responsible for the technology roadmap, site selection, design, and construction of CyrusOne’s worldwide data center assets. Previously, he led Microsoft’s global data center team, and it was under his leadership that the company opened four of the world’s largest data centers.
