The increase in mobile broadband users in Poland over the last few years has challenged network operators to continuously launch new offerings and services to meet demands of subscribers. Consequently it has also required matching operational and business processes with the business and technology shifts.
Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC, news, filings) and T-Mobile have signed a three-year contract for application development and maintenance for its billing system in Poland. The service will provide T-Mobile with solutions to match their changing business, technology and operational demands, and also ensure solution life-cycle management.
T-Mobile, Poland has previously selected the Ericsson BSCS iX, a billing system that is now complemented with a service to cost-efficiently develop and maintain the associated business-critical applications.
Anders Runevad, Head of Region Western & Central Europe, Ericsson says: “Through PTC, Ericsson has partnered with T-Mobile for last 18 years in Poland and we are pleased to join forces in the Business Support Systems-domain as well. T-Mobile’s billing system is at the heart of its relationships with its subscribers and through our capabilities in services and software we will now handle the day-to-day maintenance and development of the system and applications.”
Globally Ericsson employs over 12,000 consulting and systems integration professionals who are experts in software development and various specific domains, such as BSS. In addition, Ericsson is the global leader in Business Support Systems (BSS) with more than 1,000 billing and revenue management solutions supporting more than 2 billion subscriptions.
