GSA Contract With Multi-Million Dollar Annual Revenue Potential is to Serve Government Agencies in IA, NE, MO, and KS
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Windstream
(NYSE:WIN, news, filings) announced today that the General Services Administration
(GSA) of the U.S. Federal Government has awarded it a contract to
provide voice, Internet and data services. The contract represents
multi-million dollar potential revenue annually, covering GSA’s Region
6, which is known as the “Heartland Region” and includes Iowa,
Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas. The term of the contract is five years
and runs through fiscal year 2016.
The GSA is a federal procurement and property management agency created
to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve
the public. As a result of this agreement, Windstream has the
opportunity to provide its leading telecommunications and technology
solutions to more than 60,000 federal employees based in over 400
GSA-owned buildings, properties, and agencies, such as the Department
of Justice/U.S. Attorneys, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue
Service, and Social Security offices. The Region 6 local services
acquisition (LSA) contract adds another region to Windstream’s growing
portfolio of LSAs, which also includes Region 1 (Northeast), Region 2
(New York and New Jersey), Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic) Region 4
(Southeast), Region 5 (Great Lakes Region), and Region 9 (California).
According to the terms of the contract, all federal government agencies
with local offices in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas will have
access to Windstream’s suite of services including the company’s
Allworx phones, IP Simple solution, expansive fiber optic network, and
data center services. These agencies will join a growing list of
federal, state and local governments who have trusted Windstream with
their mission-critical communications needs.
