TelecityGroup CEO named as finalist in Business Charity Awards 2013

Michael Tobin recognised as Business Charity Champion finalist


Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup, Europe’s industry-leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, has been shortlisted in the ‘Business Charity Champion’ category of the Business Charity Awards 2013.

Run by Third Sector Magazine, the awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by businesses in the UK to good causes. Michael Tobin has been shortlisted in the ‘Business Charity Champion’ category, for business leaders that have excelled in promoting corporate support for charities within their own company and across the private sector generally.

Tobin has been recognised for personally driving TelecityGroup’s focus on improving the welfare, education and creation of opportunities for disadvantaged children both locally and internationally. This has been delivered by Tobin’s significant fundraising efforts for charities including Action for Children, Make a Wish, and the Loomba Trust, as well as creating a number of work placement and apprenticeship and volunteering schemes at TelecityGroup.

Tobin is a Board member of Byte Night, which raises money for Action for Children, as well as the Technology Leadership Group and the Internet & Media Leadership Group of the Prince’s Trust. He is also a member of the fundraising advisory board of Great Ormond Street Hospital and sits on the fundraising committee of Make a Wish Foundation UK. Finally, he is also Chairman of the Friends of The Loomba Trust, a charity providing education and aid for children of poor widows in India.
