TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that it received the Best Asian Telecom Carrier and Best Cloud-Based Service prizes at Telecom Asia Awards 2013 in Malaysia on April 17.
NTT Com was named Best Asian Telecom Carrier, the top prize at Telecom Asia Awards 2013, based on high evaluations of its innovation, financial performance, market leadership and socially responsible activities. Telecom Asia Group Editor Joseph Waring said: “The winner of the year’s Best-of-the-Best category [NTT Com] had a strong showing in the three other categories it was nominated in — winning one and ranking No. 2 in the others. This company reportedly has the greatest total contract value in Asia Pacific for international services for MNCs. It continues to expand its APAC capabilities through investment, capital tie-ups and organic growth.”
The Best Cloud-Based Service prize recognizes the NTT Com cloud service’s outstanding performance, high user evaluation and application of advanced technology. Last year, NTT Com launched the world’s first enterprise cloud service that deploys network virtualization technology, earning the company especially high marks for innovation. “NTT Com offers strong cloud infrastructure services with an extensive footprint across Asia. It has over 140 data centers worldwide and the global network to fully support user-based apps in the cloud. Its new carrier-class “Enterprise Cloud” (IaaS), provided in countries including Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and also soon to be provided in Australia, incorporates the world’s first OpenFlow virtualization technology to connect data centers seamlessly worldwide,” Waring added.
“Demands for system consolidation and cloud services among enterprises are growing rapidly,” said Mr. Motoo Tanaka, Senior Vice President of Cloud Services at NTT Com. “Our Enterprise Cloud service has been highly praised and increasingly adopted by companies since its launch in June 2012. We are very proud that the Telecom Asia Awards acknowledge the proven track record and high reliability of this service.”
NTT Com also was named Best Asian Telecom Carrier and Best Managed Services Provider in 2005, Best Wholesaler Carrier in 2008 and Best International Wholesale Carrier in 2011.
The 16th annual Telecom Asia Awards were presented to carriers and vendors operating in Asia by Telecom Asia Group, the largest telecom publishing group in Asia. A panel of telecommunications experts selected winners in 13 categories on the basis of evaluations covering market leadership, application of new technology, financial performance, corporate governance and more.
