Scott Wojcik honored for his work with the Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato
MANKATO, Minn., April 2, 2013 — HickoryTech (NASDAQ:HTCO, news, filings) is pleased to announce the Minnesota Telecom Alliance (MTA) recently awarded Scott Wojcik, a sales consultant at HickoryTech, with an Excellence in Service Award in the category of Public Service. MTA presented the award to Wojcik at its 104th annual convention March 26 in Minneapolis.
The public service award is presented to an MTA member who has served their community in a leadership role and worked to promote their community as a better place to live and work.
Wojcik was recognized for his work with the Kiwanis Holiday Light. He served as president of the inaugural holiday lights event, a project which included more than one million LED lights at Mankato’s Sibley Park. Over the course of 39 nights, the lighted displays brought more than 100,000 visitors to the park from around the region, raising $22,000 for 53 area nonprofit organizations and collecting more than 13 tons of food for 12 area food shelves.
