Gartner Recognizes AT&T Leadership in Managed Hosting for Seventh Consecutive Report Update

AT&T Continues to Excel in Managing Highly Complex Enterprise IT Infrastructure

Dallas, Texas, April 22, 2013

Recognizing AT&T* for its ability to execute and completeness of vision, Gartner has named AT&T a ‘Leader’ in its 2013 Magic Quadrant for Managed Hosting, North America1. Since 2004 and for seven consecutive report updates, AT&T has been included as a Leader in the Managed Hosting space.

Managed hosting services can help businesses simplify the management of their IT infrastructure. Under managed hosting agreements, a trusted provider ‘hosts’ an enterprise’s data and applications in their data center facilities and manages the business’ computing, network bandwidth and storage capacity accordingly. Managed hosting is often combined with or delivered on top of cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS).

The Gartner report evaluated 15 vendors, focusing on the enterprise-class, managed hosting market, independent of the type of underlying infrastructure. The evaluation criteria included ability to execute on service offerings and service excellence; overall business viability and track record; and completeness of vision for the future needs of customers.

Leaders in the Magic Quadrant were judged to have proved they have staying power in this market, can frequently innovate on their existing products, and can be relied on for enterprise-class needs. They have proved their technical competence and ability to deliver services to a wide range of customers. They address multiple use cases with stand-alone or integrated solutions.

AT&T Managed Hosting solutions see AT&T experts managing a customer’s infrastructure, from the hardware, such as servers and racks, up to the database or operating system. The infrastructure is located in its global footprint of 38 Internet Data Centers. AT&T has provided hosting services to enterprise customers for over 15 years and supports enterprises’ managed hosting needs around the world.
