(Atlanta, GA) – FiberLight, LLC, one of the nation’s leading providers of mission critical, high performance fiber optic networks, announced today that the company completed another critical milestone in their projected 9,500 route mile total fiber build throughout the state of Texas. This milestone is the introduction of a new Texas Long-haul called “DASH”, of which connects the metropolitan cities of Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Laredo, McAllen and Corpus Christi.
Built upon the Fujitsu 9500 ROADM platform, the FiberLight network has been enabled to support up to 176×100 gigabit drops between and throughout the heaviest bandwidth dependent cities in Texas. FiberLight began its implementation efforts of the DASH network in January of 2013 and secured visibility and transport capabilities in April. “Lighting the DASH network in 73 business days is a truly outstanding accomplishment for the FiberLight Team”, said Judd Carothers, EVP Network Operations and Engineering for FiberLight. “Enabling FiberLight to offer 1 to 100 gigabit transport services across the state of Texas in the time frame that we have demonstrates the capabilities of the FiberLight Operations and Engineering Teams. We are future proofing FiberLight’s abilities to meet the high growth and high bandwidth demands in one of our countries fastest growing states.”
“We are extremely proud of our team and the opportunity to support the growing needs of our customers in the wholesale, government and large enterprise sectors. This network connects many of our metro assets, which coupled with our West and Central Texas expansions, makes our 9,500 mile, super-regional, all fiber network in Texas, the largest, most advanced contiguous network of its kind,” stated Joe Patton, EVP of Sales and Marketing.
