BroadSoft Completes Interoperability Testing with Dialogic Session Border Controller for Advanced Unified Communications

Newly enhanced BorderNet 4000 SBC for use with BroadWorks gives service providers a beneficial opportunity to deliver revenue-generating UC services

MILPITAS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Dialogic Inc. (DLGC), the Network Fuel™ company, announced today that it has completed interoperability testing of its BorderNet™ 4000 Session Border Controller with BroadSoft, Inc.’s (BSFT) BroadWorks® application server. BroadSoft and Dialogic deliver solutions that reduce the complexity of providing advanced Unified Communications (UC) services and hosted applications, such as fixed-mobile convergence, modern call center capabilities, mobile video and HD voice. BorderNet 4000 helps service providers solve the real-world challenges they face by energizing their networks so they can deliver innovative multimedia services to their customers.

“Service providers who are looking to expand their customer base and supply next generation, revenue-generating services want an integrated solution that consists of network infrastructure, hosted services and mobile application services,” said Leslie Ferry, vice president, Marketing, BroadSoft. “By completing our interoperability with Dialogic, service providers will have more options for the delivery of value-added services, including hosted IP-PBX, video calling, advanced messaging and UC collaboration, that are accessible on laptops, smartphones and tablets and are delivered over a more secure and robust network. ”

The BorderNet 4000 is one of the renowned and award-winning session border controllers from Dialogic that help service providers and enterprises revitalize their networks with a beneficial way to interconnect and deliver services through ease-of-use and low total cost of ownership (TCO). In addition to the BroadSoft certification, Dialogic has unveiled enhancements to the BorderNet 4000 SBC, giving service providers added flexibility to deliver next-generation communications service for unmatched end-user experience, without requiring additional infrastructure expenditures.

“We’re seeing enterprises take advantage of the network based communication solutions and benefiting from advanced services such as FMC and video applications in addition to seeking cost savings,” said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics. “Dialogic’s access features on the BorderNet 4000 SBC are well suited for service providers wanting to deliver value added capabilities whether it’s UC, mobility, hosted PBX or hosted contact center.”

Dialogic has integrated enabling features in the BorderNet 4000 SBC, including:

  • Registration caching and far-end network address translation (NAT) traversal to support VoIP subscribers using any kind of network;
  • Support for video and voice, including high definition (HD) voice media transcoding;
  • Internet protocol version 4 (IPv4) to IPv6 interworking; and
  • Enhanced session initiation protocol (SIP) session handling to follow the presence of customers across fixed and mobile networks and track their status and activity

“Completing interoperability of the BorderNet 4000 SBC for use with BroadWorks complements our unique ability to globally implement, integrate and provide tier one support for both Dialogic and BroadSoft products,” said Jim Machi, vice president of product management for Dialogic. “Dialogic customers are giving us positive feedback on the ease-of-use and the features of the BorderNet 4000 SBC compared to competitive offerings.”
