AT&T Supports One Fund Boston with $1 Million Contribution | AT&T

AT&T Customer Text-to-Give Donations Exceed $25K in Four Days

Boston, Massachusetts, April 23, 2013

As part of its support for the victims and their families following the tragic events in Boston, AT&T* announced a $1 million donation to the One Fund Boston.

In addition, AT&T has created a toll-free number for One Fund, 855-617-FUND, so that victims are able to make direct contact and learn how to request support. This number will begin taking calls at 12 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 24.

AT&T customers who want to support One Fund Boston can text BOSTON to 80108 to give $10. The donation will be charged on their monthly AT&T bill. In the past four days, AT&T customer text donations have exceeded $25,000 and represent nearly half of all wireless customer text donations to the One Fund. Those who would like to contribute to the One Fund Boston can also do so via a link on www.att.com

“We are proud to support One Fund Boston through a $1 million dollar donation and by enabling customers to text a contribution from their mobile device,” said Patricia Jacobs, president, AT&T New England. “We applaud Mayor Menino and Governor Patrick for their leadership during this difficult time, and are thankful for the brave actions of the members of law enforcement. Boston is a special place, full of history, pride, and remarkable and resilient people. We are honored to be part of the effort to ensure that all the victims of last week’s attack and their families will be cared for.”

“As a part of the Back Bay community, our Boylston Street store team is familiar to many who live and work in the area,” said Steve Krom, vice president and general manager, AT&T New England. “I am grateful for the quick actions of our store staff and the team on the ground, who set up emergency phone call and charging stations last Monday – staying into the night to ensure that runners and spectators were able to connect with their loved ones. We are one Boston.”

AT&T’s store at 647 Boylston Street is expected to re-open in the coming days.
