SCOPE OF CONTRACT INCLUDES ADVANCED IP SERVICES AND MANAGED MOBILITY SOLUTIONS
THE HAGUE, The Netherlands, March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Today, AT&T* announced that Shell has renewed the agreement that five years ago established AT&T as Shell’s global provider of secure, advanced communications and mobility solutions. The contract has been renewed for another five years and the agreement with Shell remains the largest retail communications services contract signed by AT&T with a company headquartered outside the United States.
AT&T data services are available in countries that represent 99 percent of the world’s economy, providing multinational businesses, like Shell, with access to AT&T’s advanced networking services to support their business around the globe. These strategic services are critical for a global enterprise and its ability to operate better and more efficiently in both its existing markets, along with those targeted for expansion in the years ahead. For Shell, many of their locations needing networking services are in harsh or inaccessible locations.
Given the explosive growth in mobile data usage on smartphones, tablets and other connected devices over the last five years, AT&T is also focused on supporting clients with advanced mobilitysolutions around the world. Using AT&T’s Global Mobile Management® service, AT&T is managing mobile voice and data for Shell users that are provided through other mobile operators around the world, as well as providing Wi-Fi based solutions to help control costs with mobile devices such as tablets and laptops.
In addition, AT&T is delivering wide area and local area networks, Unified Communicationstechnology, Internet-based voice services, and network- and premise- based security solutions.
“It’s been enormously rewarding to work with Shell, which operates in a very dynamic and highly globalized industry,” said Mark Shine, AT&T Senior Vice President. “By providing global networking solutions accessible from just about every corner of the planet, AT&T is delivering what it does best, so that Shell can focus on its core business – providing energy products and solutions for consumers and businesses around the world. And with the world of business now going mobile, we know we can deliver an even higher level of value to them.”
