DALLAS – (March 11, 2013)PEG Bandwidth, LLC, a provider of high-capacity Ethernet backhaul networks, announces the expansion of its network with a series of recently executed contracts to serve 1,500 new cell sites spanning ten states throughout Central, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States. The expansion will add over 7,900 route miles to the PEG Bandwidth fiber network, which once completed, will total over 11,000 route miles across 15 states. The deployments will support four large wireless operators’ 4G expansions.

The expansion includes adding sites to PEG Bandwidth’s existing Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Illinois networks, as well as new deployments in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Iowa and Washington, D.C. Through the completion of this network expansion, PEG Bandwidth will have access to 2,653 municipalities across its network and will pass over 2.7 million businesses.

Including this deployment, PEG Bandwidth has executed contracts for almost 2,500 cell sites. In addition to the new cell site builds, the network extension will include access to 20 mobile switching centers and 31 carrier hotels including key facilities located at 350 Cermak (Chicago), 60 Hudson (New York), 165 Halsey St. (Newark, NJ), and 21715 Filigree Ct (Ashburn, VA).

PEG Bandwidth delivers complex network solutions across broad geographies utilizing a combination of new fiber builds, available dark fiber, partner fiber networks and licensed, point-to-point microwave. PEG Bandwidth’s team of backhaul experts aggregates traffic across these disparate networks to provide a seamless, end-to-end solution from a wireless operator’s cell site to its switching facility.
