Internap Named a TAG Top 40 Innovative Technology Company

Technology Association of Georgia Honors 40 Companies for Innovation and Contributions to the State’s Technology Community

ATLANTA, GA – March 18, 2013 – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, recently announced data center and hosting provider Internap as one of its Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG will recognize this prestigious group at the 2013 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 20, 2013, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

TAG’S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact and efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia’s technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and globally.

“The 2013 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia’s Technology community,” said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. “The 2013 Top 40 finalists are shining examples of what makes our State such a hotbed for technology, and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community.”

“Our ninth year of the Top 40 was an overwhelming success, based on the number of truly innovative companies that participated in the competition,” said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. “The Top 40 winners demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community.”

Headquartered in Atlanta, Internap provides intelligent IT Infrastructure services that combine unmatched performance and platform flexibility, enabling customers to focus on their core business, improve service levels and lower the cost of IT operations. Internap’s cloud, hosting and colocation services are delivered from a geographically distributed platform of high-density, redundant data centers. Its patented, performance-optimized IP connectivity guarantees 100% uptime and the lowest latency, resulting in a seamless user experience.

Built atop one of the most stable power grids in the country, Internap’s Atlanta data center offers high-performance colocation and hosting services – backed by the company’s route-optimized IP connectivity and a global content delivery network – to the nation’s fourth largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies. In 2012, Internap completed phase one of a planned expansion to address the growing demand for data center services in the Atlanta market. The expansion features the latest advances in data center design and engineering, including high-density power configurations of up to 12 kW per rack, allowing customers to “upgrade in place” without having to take down additional space to support larger power draws. A reliable N+1 design with concurrent maintainability provides complete infrastructure redundancy. In addition, the facility allows customers to hybridize colocation, cloud and hosting services for greater application performance, business flexibility and cost efficiency. Internap’s Atlanta data center was also named the first in Georgia to receive Green Globes® certification, due to its environmental efficiency and sustainability practices.

“High-performance data centers are foundational to Internap’s offering as a global provider of cloud, hosting and colocation services, and we continue to innovate in data center design and engineering to deliver new services and hybrid capabilities that help our customers gain a competitive advantage,” said Mike Higgins, senior vice president of data center services at Internap. “We are honored to be recognized as one of Georgia’s technology leaders and take great pride in helping to grow the state’s thriving data center services market.”

The 2013 Georgia Technology Summit is expected to draw a crowd of more than 1,000 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia’s technology community. In addition to presentations from some of the top technology influencers in the nation, the newest member of the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia will be inducted.
