Experienced Executive Adds Broad Background to Cyan’s Rapidly Growing Worldwide Footprint
PETALUMA, CALIF . , MARCH 26 , 2013 – Cyan today announced the addition of James Hamilton as senior vice president of global sales. In this position, Hamilton will oversee all aspects of Cyan’s rapidly expanding worldwide field operations footprint . Having held senior executive positions with companies in a diverse array of industries — including software, networking, cloud services, and security — Hamilton brings to Cyan experience that is critically important as service providers and data center operators transform their networks using software defined network (SDN) and packet optical technologies.

Hamilton joins Cyan from Click Security , where he served as the Austin based company’s president. Priorto that, Hamilton was a principal partner and board member with CPSG Partners , a nationally recognized consulting firm focused on information security, enterprise applications, and business intelligence. Earlier, Hamilton was executive vice president at SafeNet , where he lead strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions.

Earlier in his career, Hamilton was president and CEO at TippingPoint, which was acquired by 3Com in 2005 and is now part of HP
. Before that , he served as president and CEO at Efficient Networks, an early pioneer in the DSL space, which was subsequently acquired by
Siemens . Hamilton has also held executive positions at Picazo Communications (acquired by Intel ) , Networth (acquired by Compaq), and
Grid Systems. Hamilton graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Lawrence Technical University.
